Turkey's road to the European Union is long and difficult. Turkey's entry into the EU also depends on the way in which Turkey will implement the upcoming reforms. Turkey has been a candidate for membership in the European Union for ten years, and accession negotiations began in 2005. They are going quite hard because of the division of the members of the Union.
