Abstract

Often the right to a trademark, no matter whether it is an individual or collective, i.e. certification trademarks, as an intellectual property right and a distinctive mark for marking the goods and services, is considered as the biggest business advantage of the enterprises. The trademark is a strong instrument for the realization of the economic goals of companies, and thus the national economy. Using collective and certification trademarks is very important for overcoming the isolation, issues, and challenges facing small and medium enterprises. The flexibility of small companies, the adaptability without large costs and for a shorter period, provides association and an organized approach by mutual trademark on the market based on the geographical or industrial mutual sign. The paper will analyze the potential and benefits of using collective and certification trademarks, positive examples of their registration, as well as statistical data and trends for using them since the establishment of the State Office of Industrial Property until today.
