Abstract
In modern times, surrogacy, as a method of biomedical assisted fertilization invokes a number of legal, ethical, social, medical, religious, and philosophical dilemmas. Despite this fact, surrogacy is legally allowed in certain states. The Republic of North Macedonia is one of these states. The subject of this paper is the presentation of the system, the procedure, the conditions, and the mutual rights and obligations for both contracting parties related to surrogacy in the Macedonian legal system, implemented with Law Amending the Law on Biomedical Assisted Fertilization. The study of this subject matter will be primarily conducted by applying the normative analysis method, as well as the method of comparison and the case law method. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the surrogacy in Macedonian legal system.
