Daily progress of IT and its influence in every pore of life initiates a chain of requests to all state institutions which affect the growing need to monitor changes. This is especially important in complex public institutions such as the State Statistical Office (SSO). The rush of change has led to a growing need for modernization. The improvements to the IT structure of the SSO are made with a joint EU statistics twinning project between EU members and SSO in Macedonia. Very significant results were achieved in improvement of data collection, the data collection speed and in virtualization of equipment.
