Abstract
Reconstituted tobacco is a constituent part of the cigarette which improves the smoking properties and enables a better usage of tobacco offals in cigarette industry. In this investigation, conditioning was carried out on the samples of reconstituted tobacco with a constant humidity of 13% and the more important technological characteristics were examined. Smooth reconstituted tobacco was used in the investigation and it consisted of the following raw materials: leaf, strips and vein of lhe Virginia tobacco variety, leaf, strips and vein of lhe Burley variety and leaf of the oriental variety Prilep. The aim of this paper is to give instructions to the manufactures for selection of the offal material and estimation of its percentage in formation of the raw in order to obtain reconstituted tobacco with the best technological characteristics.
