Abstract
The EU regional policy is
based on financial solidarity of all
its members, through their share in
the common Budget. Part of this
Budget is intended for less developed
regions and it also contributes
to the balanced and harmonized
development of the community as
a whole. The regional policy of the
EU is an important tool, especially
when problems occur due to the
common market and the integration
process in general. Namely,
the smaller the regional disparities
are, the more the effects of the integration
will be evenly distributed
among regions and Member
States. The emphasis of this paper
is placed on the regional policy of
the EU and its impact on the European
aspirations of the Republic of
Macedonia as a candidate country
for EU membership, operationalized
through the Instrument for Pre-
Accession.
