Inadequate waste management, today and in the past, has serious consequencesfor the environment and nature and sets out the basic guidelines for establishing awaste management system, based on the hierarchy of the basic principles of wastemanagement, as well as the basic principles of waste management. sustainable use ofnatural resources.Any state that wants to solve the situation with waste is obliged to adopt a wastemanagement strategy. It should elaborate the general measures that the Republic ofMacedonia needs to realize related to the goals of environmental protection,economic and social goals, activities and measures for mitigating the currentenvironmental impacts and solving issues related to the environment. Wastemanagement in the future. Harmonization of legislation with the acquiscommunautaire as an inevitable process in Macedonia's approximation to EUmembership is a useful tool in establishing an efficient and sustainable wastemanagement system.
This paper aims to elaborate the measures from the Waste ManagementStrategy of the Republic of Macedonia and to indicate the measures that should betaken from the aspect of respecting the legal standards that our country is obliged torespect and apply on its path to the European Union and in the sphere of treatment ofdifferent types of waste.
