Abstract

World tobacco production,in spite of the powerful anti-smoking campaign, does not stagnate, but continues to grow in correlation with population growth in the world. Thus, in twenty leading tobacco producingcountries, the production ranged from 5.942.748 tonsin 2008 to 6.558.000tons in 2013. It must be noted thatnowadaysthe share of raw tobacco in cigarette contentis 0,70-0,80g, while less than 10 years agoit was 1 g, which shows that higher number of cigarettes are smoked,i.e.that the consumption increased. According to our projections, tobacco production in R. Macedoniauntil 2020will reach 35000tons, without particular ventures, investments or human resources.
