Abstract

Introduction: Bitola as a city began to expand territorially under Ottoman rule. Bitola is divided into 12 zones, of
which the 10th, 11th and 12th zones are peripheral zones, ie the most distant from the central city area. By
activating the peripheral areas, understanding the problems and needs of the residents in those zones, we would
contribute to the revitalization of the entire city. Therefore, in this paper, the emphasis will be placed on the
peripheral areas of the city of Bitola, such as the Bukovska neighborhood, Brusnichka and Strelishte, but we will
also analyze the Lavchanska neighborhood and zone 3, that is, Bair. In the peripheral zones of the city, an interview
was conducted per household, in each zone there was one interviewer, who, on a previously created questionnaire,
collected data on several aspects, such as family income, the number of family members, how many members are
students, do they travel outside the zone, do they own a car, with which means of transport do they meet their
mobility needs, and the most important question was what was their mobility in the previous day, that is, what was
the reason for traveling and where. The data processed in a table and a graphic display will be shown in this article,
where we will give the conclusions, also their application in the PTV VISION VISUM software tool will be shown
