Abstract

Modern information technologies, which with the increasing acceptance of the Internet are becoming increasingly important, also influence the change in the way enterprises work in tourism and catering. The application of information technologies affects the efficient operation, the successful flow of information, cost control, and with this and the quality of the provision of services. The hotels in Kosovo, which are subject to analysis in this paper, are very different in content and service vary between themselves and the competition in the global market. In this paper we will analyze the current position of hotels categorized with 3, 4 and 5 stars on social networks and determine the presence and importance of Internet distribution systems (IDS) insales as well as their effect on the quality of hotel services. Two empirical researches were conducted, the managers of the hotels and guests visited the selected hotels. The analysis uses descriptive statistics, Students T test, Hi square test and Pearson correlation coefficient. The quality, promotion and sale of hotel services largely depends on the cooperation of hotels with Internet distribution systems and can be much improved according to the comments and assessments that guests leave on these portals. The majority of guests, when choosing a hotel, make decisions based on information available on the Internet distribution systems
