Abstract
Tourism is a modern phenomenon derived from the participants' massiveness and is an immediate reflection of the development of the society and economy of a country, that is, the temporary movement of tourists from one place to another due to holidays, recreation, business
or other purposes that are not connected to performing economic activity and not longer than one year.
The wealth of natural resources and traditions that exist in the world is one of the main motives of the tourists for traveling and wanting to engage and get acquainted with undiscovered places and new cultures and experience new things in culture, art, crafts, everyday rituals and
traditional cuisine.
Encouraging a conscious way of experiencing the natural and cultural heritage for tourist purposes means creating new jobs, reducing poverty, preventing the migration of the rural population and expressing a sense of pride among the locals and the tourists themselves.
Tourism offers a strong incentive to protect and preserve the natural and cultural heritage, since generated revenues can be re-used for initiatives to further work and survive in the economy over a longer period of time. Such a natural and cultural heritage must be managed with special attention, since the main goal is continuous growth and development in a world that is constantly becoming more global. Only the true partnership between the communities and the tourism sector and the natural and cultural-historical heritage created on the aspirations and
values of all participants can provide sustainable development from several aspects.
Tourists and researchers are very interested in natural sites and environments, mountains, lakes and rivers, natural landscapes and motifs, as well as for the buildings and monuments of the cultural heritage, not only in the tourist region of the Cursed Mountains, but the whole of Kosovo. The use of natural and cultural heritage in tourism means greater investments in tourism infrastructure and thus tourism becomes a very important economic source for the population of the entire region
