Abstract
The subject of research for this doctoral dissertation is various types of fraud and abuse in insurance. The aim of the dissertation is to point out the most common types of insurance fraud and to analyze its various forms. Likewise, the subject of this doctoral dissertation is a criminal law analysis of abuses and deceptions in insurance, viewed through positive criminal legislation, as well as solutions in comparative legislation. In accordance with the subject and purpose of the research, we conducted a survey with the help of a survey questionnaire, in which the general and
professional public was covered, with the aim of evaluating the representation, that is, the representation of certain types of insurance, as well as getting to know both citizens and employees of insurance companies with forms on abuse, that is fraud and criminal fraud insurance. The results of the research showed that there is not enough interest and familiarity among citizens for different types of voluntary insurance and that they are not sufficiently familiar with the act of committing a criminal act of fraud in insurance. In this sense, the goal of this research will be achieved if it contributes to the education of the wider public from the aspect of insurance, and I encourage the scientific and professional public to pay more attention to the methods for detecting and preventing abuses in the field of insurance.
