Abstract
Abstract
The spectrum of femur fractures is wide and ranges from nondislocated stress fractures of
the femur to fractures associated with severe injury and significant injury to the
surrounding soft tissues. Fractures of the femur are usually described by their location of
onset. Femoral neck fractures in young patients are usually caused by high-energy trauma.
Motivation is often described as a key to rehabilitation and professionals often believe that
it plays a very large role in determining patient outcomes. A lack of motivation among
patients can be blamed for failure in rehabilitation. The concept of motivation is poorly
understood by health care professionals and there appears to be no real consensus on how motivation can be defined. As a result, the day-to-day assessment of patients on how well
or poorly motivated they are to rehabilitate remains subjective.
Aim of the study
The aim of the femoral neck fracture study is to promote recovery, prevent complications,
restore function, and assess motivation. The primary goal of fracture management is to
return the patient to their premorbid level of function. This is established by surgical or
conservative treatment. Attention must also be paid to appropriate patient care and pain
management from a nursing perspective.
Key words:
Care, rehabilitation, motivation, treatment, fracturology.
