Abstract
In this professional and scientific reply of mine, I express my opposition to Friedman's and the Stratfor Institute's attitude towards their basic and ironic claim that the Balkans is: "an archaeological site of fossilized peoples, remnants of ancient conquests that still hang on to their glorious identities" that is, in short said, "Barbarians with a short memory". An insult par excellence for all the Balkan peoples, and for which no one reacted, no one uttered a single word. So, at the very beginning, I would like to clarify to the concerned gentlemen from this Institute that the Balkans is nothing but the cradle of civilization and progress, a crossroads of the world, that is, a zone where military, cultural and economic interference and clashes between Europe and Asia took place. between Christianity and Islam, between Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Simply put, it is a place where the roots of European culture are found.
