The purpose of this research is to critically analyze the scientific literature to describe the
concept and issues of media literacy and to draw attention to the importance of its promotion
given the rapid development of information and communication technology and its role as an
important factor for active citizenship. in today's information society. The methodology applied
for research on the topic of labor included insights into the literature relevant to the media and
information literacy. Because media literacy is a relevant educational concept in Western
Europe and America, professional literature is more prevalent in English.
