Abstract

Encouraging the development of self–regulation of students is one of the main goals of
educational activities. However, it is not always properly developed in the school environment, especially in the
education of gifted students. Self-regulation can be a challenge for most teachers due to vague understanding and
inadvertently inhibited by teaching methods that are not aimed at stimulating student’s potential. Therefore, the
teacher and his behavior play an important role in the development of self-regulation. The way teachers, especially
in primary education, understand self-regulation provides a basis for their true activities aimed at developing
students’ self-regulation. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize teachers and their behavior for the development
of self-regulation, of the gifted in the school environment of primary education.
