Education in the future implies a reconstruction in the educational system. Thispractically means implementation of the reform of the entire educational system anddevelopment of a conception of the permanent education in accordance with social needs andchanges. The presented work here is an integral part of a broader set up and realizedpreliminary project on "The Redefinition of the Education Structure of the Republic ofSerbia" forwarded to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia in 2010. Thepreliminary project, guided by Ph.D. Miroslav Kuka and Ph.D. Vuкosava Zivкovic, wasrealized in the team work and in coordination of work of the central and regional workinggroups in Serbia and the surrounding countries having 80 collaborators in total working onthe project. The Model of our structure of the educational system extends the period ofcompulsory education up to 10 years (until the first grade of secondary school, which is thesame for all, regarding the curriculum) and is based on the differentiation of the educationallevels (from preschool to secondary school) in cycles, which, on their part, are defined byaims and tasks. Short-term, middle-term and long-term aims have been clearly defined and aconcise division of competence and the follow-up methods of successufulness of itsimplementation has been made within the proposal of our model.
