Abstract
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in data centers should provide ventilation, filtration, cooling and dehumidification, humidification and heating of the air, to operate continuously throughout the year and to be flexible if expansion or reconstruction is required, without interrupting the operation of the data center. If the necessary operating conditions of the data processing and telecommunications equipment are taken into account, their achievement and maintenance is a major challenge for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC).
This paper analyzes the air conditioning and ventilation system of an existing data center, which needs to be reconstructed due to the changes that occurred during the period of its operation and offers suggestions by integrating proven best solutions in designing the air conditioning system and ventilation. The relevant load for cooling and heating has been calculated and the air conditioning and ventilation system has been designed to improve its energy efficiency.
