Abstract
Soluble sugars, proteins and Shmuk’s index were investigated in three oriental and one semi-oriental tobacco variety and their F1 hybrids.
The aim of investigations was to describe the way of inheritance of the above mentioned dhemicalcomponents and the quality index resulting from them, using the regression analysis (the method of Mather and Jinks (1971).
The cross section of the expected regression line with Wr-line shows overdominance for the three characters investigated. According to the regression coefficient, there is a presence of interallelic interaction, i.e. epistasis, in all three examples.
