Abstract

Reconstituted tobacco has an important role in cigarette fabrication, i.e. in utilization of the whole by production in certain stages of manipulation, fermentation and cigarette fabrication.
The stripsing of the large-leaf Burley and Virginia tobacco varieties gives two possibilities of vein utilization:
- Method of pressing and expanding
- Method of production of reconstituted tobacco
The aim of our investigation was to present, through the technological features, the possibilities of utilization of the Virginia and Burley tobacco veins in production of reconstituted tobacco. We also present the physical, chemical and tasting parameters of reconstituted tobacco.
Based on our investigations in relation to the technological properties, a a preference is given to the reconstituted tobacco consisted of the veins of Virginia. The reconstituted tobacco consisted of the veins of Burley has a better technological properties as compared to the standard raw material.
