Investigations of diallel crosses with six parent cultivars of different types of tobacco (P23, MB-3, SM-1, JV 125/3, FL-5 i O-87) were carried out at the experimental field of Scientific Tobacco Institute - Prilep in 2008. The trial was set up according ro the RCBD in four replications. Standard agrotechnic were applied in tobacco growing. We investigated plant height, number of leaves per plant and dry matter yield per plant. The aim of this paper was to estimate their variability by basic statistical parametres: standard deviation and degree of variability. The parents and progeny of F1 generation showed very low variability, which means that they have high degree of uniformity. While in progeny F2 generation estimated bigger variability, that means there are different individuals and possibilities of choice against selectioner wishes.
