The paper deals with the analysis of Macedonian translations of several English words/expressions in the field of social pathology. The authors designed a questionnaire containing English words/expressions related to social pathology and distributed them to a group of students of the Faculty of Security in Skopje who had attended lectures in both English and Social Pathology. The students had the task to translate the given English words/expressions into Macedonian. The collected data was statistically processed and analyzed and the results were presented and discussed. The acquired results would help the authors determine students’ knowledge of the meanings of the selected English words/expressions related to social pathology and their ability to accurately translate them into Macedonian. The results would also provide an insight into the effectiveness of the current syllabi in English and Social Pathology at the Faculty of Security in Skopje related to the students’ acquisition of vocabulary in the respective field as one of their goals.
