In Phytopathological Laboratory of Tobacco Institute - Prilep in vitro investigations were made to study the biological effect of systemic fungicides Ridomil MZ 72, Sandofan M, Galben M and Cimozin S. Chemicals were added to a nutrient medium seeded with the fungus and incubated 15 days in a thermostat at 250C.
Field investigations were conducted in conditions of natural infection. The trial was set up in three replications. For treatment of tobacco in the trial, the same fungicides were used in a rate of 2. kg/ha a.i. In this trial, Ridomil G5 with the same rate of active ingredient was incorporated in the soil prior to transplanting of tobacco. The other fungicides were applied by irrigational water 20 days after transplanting. For each plant, 1 l of the prepared suspension were used.
In laboratory investigations, the lowest growth of the fungus was recorded in the medium where Ridomil MZ 72 was added. Compared to other fungicides and check where no fungicide was added, this chemical had the highest fungistatic effect on fungus growth.
In field conditions, the highest effectiveness in protection from the pathogen Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae was achieved with methalaxyl-based fungicides Ridomil MZ 72 and Ridomil G5.
