Abstract

There are various solutions and strategies which can be provided in the advent of producing more successful and effective teaching methods that can be adopted at the universities for their Business and Economics students regarding their Business English proficiency. This paper discusses strategies to improve the Business English teaching and learning process. The analysis of the data from responses to a survey conducted in Macedonia of company professionals, university professors teaching Business English and university students of Business and/or Economics supports the suggestion of different solutions for the curricula change. However, the basis of the strategies is the importance to understand that Business English is among the core skills required by the companies for their employees. The paper proposes changes of the Business and Economics curricula at the universities in Macedonia in regard to the Business English course in order to enhance the teaching and learning process of Business English among the teachers and students. Thus, student-centered curricula which take into consideration both the needs and wants of the students as well as the business community shall be created
