Abstract

Risks are an objective category that is an integral part of everyday life, but also of the business entities
operations. Risk management from the perspective of those who perform it is the job of highly qualified staff
whose narrow specialty is dealing with risks. The need to manage risks has especially multiplied in recent
decades with increasing technical and technological progress, the development of rapid information systems, the
development of financial innovations and derivatives, increased competition and major financial shocks due to
strong capital competition. Through its evolution and development, risk management has also developed an
organizational and staffing structure in which area of competence are this issues. It is about employees who deal
with the problem of risks at a certain level throughout their working hours, or it is only a part of their
responsibilities. The personnel structure of the business entity makes the so-called subjective factor, that is, the
philosophy of management in it. The paper intends to emphasize the importance of this subjective factor in
determining appropriate risk management strategies.
