The main subject of the paper is the current global situation in international terrorism, analysed through security assessment of its impact on the stability of countries around the world. For this purpose, the paper treats this day terrorist organizations and their illegal activities emphasizing their dependence on the national, regional and global trends, events and developments, as well as creation of security policies and strategies.
Through a comparative analysis of top lists for the global index of terrorism in the recent years that systematize worldwide countries by terrorist activities, will be established trends of existence of terrorism. Through security and operational analysis of recent terrorist attacks, will be established their intensity, damage and impact on the population and states. The paper also emphasizes the current security situation in Europe and the Balkans, as well as counter-terrorism measures and activities against risks and threats as a result of recent terrorist attacks. The inevitable issue is reviewing and identifying challenges and security risks arising from the current refugee and migrant crisis, which affects almost all European countries. Realizing this aspect, based on the security and political constellations in the crisis and conflict areas, the end of the paper conclude with forecast of future terrorist threats to European countries in order to be introduced more efficient measures for control and prevention of future planned terrorist attacks.
