Abstract

The aim of the paper is to show the place and the role of the activities of tourism and hospitality in the service sector of R Macedonia Quantitative and qualitative changes among the activities are also present within the service sector - structurally and temporally.

Besides the participation in the GDP structure for the economic policy makers, a number of other economic indicators are also important: employees in the service activities; capacities in service activities; number of business units in service activities; turnover in service activities; employee’s earnings in service activities.

Activity of accommodation and food service activities in relation to other service activities will provide a critical overview of the thesis whether tourism is really special in the strategy for future development in R Macedonia, or they are some other activities from the service sector.
