The subject of research in the paper is the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the European Union. In the paper, the author analyzes the strategic importance of the summit held in Brussels and Berlin in 2024. The Brussels Summit, 2024 - aims to strengthen ties between the EU and the Western Balkans in infrastructure, digital and human connectivity, i.e. addressing common challenges, such as security, migration, geopolitical developments and good neighborly relations.Berlin Summit (2024) - The goal is for the Western Balkan countries to cooperate in developing infrastructure, reducing unemployment, increasing the competitiveness of the economy, mutual reconciliation, education, ecology, transport, energy, digitalization, roaming, etc.
In the final part of the paper, the author concludes that the achievement of the European partnership is a strategic goal for both the European Union and the Western Balkan countries. The enlargement of the European Union with the Western Balkan countries is a geostrategic investment in peace, security, stability and prosperity. Therefore, a priority geopolitical interest for the Western Balkan countries is their integration into the economic, political and security system of the European Union.
The content will be created based on the analysis of foreign literature and using electronic content. In preparing the content of the paper, the author used the general scientific methods: the descriptive method, the normative method, the comparative method and the content analysis method as a special scientific method.
