Contemporary social processes can directly or indirectly determine the development of tourism. There is almost no spatial unit which does not tend to become a tourist destination. Thus this becomes to be the dominant preoccupation or even lifestyle. The emergence of tourism in a given selected destination evokes implications that are presented as changes in an area, its humanization and improvement. Tourism is a factor of economic development, so that it encourages economic activities which are directly or indirectly part of the development opportunities. One of the most important values and changes is the socio-psychological dimension. This dimension should not be treated as a common and separate feature of tourism, but more as a type of influence which affects its other components.
Keywords: tourism, tourists, recipient population, socio-psychological impact, tourism culture.
