Abstract

This study examines the temporal dynamics and structural allocation of household bank credits in North Macedonia, leveraging data from the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia (NBRM) from January 2009 to June 2024. Employing Trend Analysis, Regression Analysis for Trends, and ANOVA, the research investigates variations in the distribution of household bank credits across different types, including consumer loans, mortgage loans, automobile loans, credit cards, overdrafts, other personal loans, as well as doubtful and contested receivables and accrued interest. This investigation is pivotal for assessing the overall credit exposure of the population and identifying which credit types have dominated over time. The results offer crucial insights into shifts in credit distribution patterns and their implications for financial stability. Furthermore, the findings are invaluable for policymakers and monetary authorities, providing a foundation for informed decision-making and strategic formulation of monetary policies and financial regulations.
