Abstract
Event tourism nowadays doesn’t represent just a new form of tourism, but it has evolved into an imminent need of the tourist offer in creating the tourism products. Tourism destinations continuously compete on the tourism market in offering something different. It is important to stress out that on the global tourism market the closer regions can use their differences and combine them as a unique experience for the potential tourists. It is known that tourism overrides the boundaries between the different cultures. The Balkan region is known for its diversity. The impact that these cultures have had between themselves can’t be denied. Thus, there can be seen large similarities between them, but they have also preserved their distinctive flavors. Organizing events can be seen a great potential in the region of the Balkans as a way for a mutual approach on the global tourism markets.
