Abstract

The work presents the architectural remains of early Christian and medieval sacred structures discovered through trial and systematic excavations in the Demir Kapija region. The discovered structures from the early Christian period can be divided into two main types: basilica-type churches with a central nave and side aisles, and longitudinal single-aisle buildings, while all the discovered medieval churches belong to the type of single-nave churches. The work attempts to clarify their chronology and define the construction phases.
