The pandemic caused by the coronavirus has drastically changed people's daily lives and work routines, having a significant impact on both physical and mental health. The restrictive measures adopted in response to the pandemic, particularly the restriction of movement (curfew, quarantine, self-isolation, etc.), have resulted in an increased risk of domestic violence.
In this paper, we will provide an overview of the current situation regarding domestic violence in the Republic of North Macedonia. We will analyze the risk factors that contribute to the rise in domestic violence, as well as the measures in place to protect victims. Special emphasis will be placed on prevention and the institutional response to this type of violence, including the support and assistance available to victims.
