Abstract

Environmental issues represent one of the official priorities within the Westen Balkans country politics agenda. Such issues should be mainly driven by the need for environmental protection. Instead, there is a growing opinion that many national policies are written by the echoes of populism with an effect of showing that country elite cares -once some environmental problem will erupt. Also there is a growing opinion that environmental issues are driven by the need policy to be shaped in line with those of European Union.
Public participation has been established as a sound mechanism for environmental policy improvement. The enforcement stage of policy implementation should also generate most citizen involvement through the economic sustainable way.
