This paper explains the business model of e-Government which is based on the technology of data virtualization. The methods by which this technology can be realized are also presented, as well as the way in which it can be applied. From the perspective of security, general advantages and disadvantages of virtualization technology have been presented. The paper also provides an overview of some of the most common software solutions for virtualization, where VMware software is presented in more detail.
