Abstract

Abatract

Commercially available oil extensions can be purchased at a number of retail outlets for internal combustion engines that are claimed to significantly improve engine performance. Motor Vehicle Laboratory and
engines at the Faculty of Traffic and Transportation Sciences in Prague and procured a number of additives and in a long-term program examined the naive impact on internal combustion engines. The tests are based on friction, noise, vibration, exhaust emissions.
This paper presents the results of tests on friction and mechanical losses in
Internal combustion engines.
