Abstract

Hearing loss is a common and often debilitating condition that affects people of all ages. Although hearing aids have been a standard treatment for hearing loss for dec- ades, they may not be effective for individuals with more severe hearing loss. In recent years, hearing implants have emerged as a viable alternative to hearing aids for people with profound hearing loss. However, the use of hearing implants comes with its own set of challenges and benefits.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the challenges and benefits of hearing implants and their impact on daily functioning. The study will utilize a self-adminis- tered questionnaire to collect data from 35 individuals who received hearing implants at the Clinic Hospital ‚‚Dr. Trifun Panovski” in Bitola. The questionnaire will include questions about daily functioning with implants, the reason for the prescription of hear- ing implants, the duration of usage, and any relationships between genders. Additional- ly, the study will explore the impact of profession on hearing loss.
The results of this study may provide insights into the challenges and benefits of hearing implants and how they impact daily functioning. This information may be useful for clinicians who prescribe hearing implants to their patients and for individ- uals who use hearing implants. By better understanding the challenges and benefits of hearing implants, clinicians may be able to improve their prescription practices, and individuals may be better prepared to use hearing implants effectively. Ultimately, this study may contribute to improving the quality of life for people with hearing loss who use hearing implants.
