Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine some hematology and biochemistry
parameters important for evaluation of animal metabolic and health status. The
investigation was conducted on 55 clinically healthy, non-pregnant and nonlactating sheep, 1 to 3 years old, during spring season, from three different
locations in Pelagoina region. Blood samples were collected for analysis of
basic hematology and blood biochemistry. Obtained results were compared to
reference values for examined parameters established in relevant literature and
with values of other Pramenka strains reared in different location in Balkan
Peninsula. Most of the values were within the reference values and no major
deviation were observed. Also, most of the values were consistent with values of
examined parameters in other Pramenka strains.
