Abstract

Energy is one of the greatest challenges of modern humanity and fundamental prerequisite for
progress in a number of areas and technologies. Energy costs are becoming larger in the daily operation
and maintenance of objects and facilities, whether it refers to a buildings or industrial plants.
In order to bring positive changes in the area of energy efficiency and energy management, a
methodology called energy management system (EnMS) has been developed.
This paper explains the fundamental aspects of energy management system (EnMS) in public buildings.
