The paper is looking for the answer to the fundamental question of environmental protection and the questions closely related to it. This chapter provides an overview of the historical dimension in environmental protection, global policies and conditions. The Environmental dimensions in the scientific studies are numerous and that exactly is one limitation factor in answering as many questions possible. Nevertheless in this chapter according to our modest opinion some of the main questions in the scientific debates related to the environmental protection are being opened. The paper is divided into 6 parts: 1. Introduction; 2. Environment; 3. Environmental protection (security); 4. Economic aspects of the Environment; 5. Environmental management; 6. Sustainable development.
Findings: Scientific review of the knowledge related to Environmental protection and it’s most closely related questions are being considered, such as: the sustainable development, the relationship between the environment and the economy and in this regard the Environmental management processes during the production, as well as the environmental security as one of the discourses in the International relations that is closely related to the environmental protection.
Methods: The paper follows the qualitative approach. It is based on Literature review the Authors have made i.e., the overview of the theoretical findings on the basic questions and conceptual determination of the above mentioned parts of the chapter. Also inductive and deductive approach is present while analyzing the theoretical observations.
