Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper aims to shed some light on some of the possibilities electronic resources offer to pragmatic researchers nowadays. Namely, it discusses the opportunity to use numerous websites offering search engines and data bases which provide pragmatic researchers with the initial input (theoretical background), as well as websites which contain authentic spoken and written data necessary for conducting their research. Moreover, online surveys, which can be distributed very swiftly and efficiently, and online concordance programs, which are employed for analyzing specific language features have also been brought to the foreground as they alleviate the process of compiling and analyzing corpuses considerably.
Finally, the extent to and the manner in which electronic resources can be utilized depends solely on the nature of a specific pragmatic research as well as the aims and preferences of researchers themselves.

Key words: pragmatic research, electronic resources, online surveys, spoken and written corpus
