Abstract

Abstract
The term "stroke" is synonymous with cerebrovascular stroke or cerebrovascular attack and is a purely clinical definition which, according to the World Health Organization, can be defined as "rapidly developed clinical signs of focal impairment of cerebral function of presumed vascular origin for a duration of more than 24 hours''. Included in this definition are most cases of cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage, but those cases in which recovery occurs within 24 hours are intentionally excluded. These cases are referred to as transient ischemic attacks and are often a harbinger of a stroke.
The objectives of this paper are:
- To assess the functionality of the patients;
- To assess residual functional activity of patients treated at home.
Materials and methods
This research represents an average study that includes 43 patients with hemiplegia in the Ohrid and Struga regions, placed in home conditions. Patients are examined according to gender, age, and time of onset the hemiplegia.
The skillful hands of the physiotherapist and the mobile devices for physical therapy that exist on the market are a step forward towards the realization of this ideology, and the results of this paper prove it.
Conclusion and discussion
According to the official WHO data, the main cause of death in humans is cardiovascular diseases, and the main cause of stroke is impaired circulation, which consequently leads to hemiplegia. Given this large number of people affected by hemiplegia, unfortunately, thanks to the previous chain, long-term care and rehabilitation is required. A growing elderly population means more hospital beds and staff.

Key words: Hemiplegia, care, rehabilitation.
