Abstract

This article will try to define migration as one of the central topics that concern Balkan countries in the
entire 20th century. We will try to classify it, and follow the history of “traditional” migrations in the
Balkans. We will analyze migration in the context of significant social processes in the 20th century
such as wars between Balkan countries, inequalities in the standard of living between particular
countries, and globalization.
