Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to show if the leading traffic projects, ran by the Local Government of the city Prilep, Republic of Macedonia, are in accordance with the real situation of the main roads in the city center. For the purpose of this analysis, a part of the planned project “Reconstruction of the square - Metodija Andonov Chento” and the draft decision for “Goce Delchev Boulevard” reconstruction will be revised.
The main aim of the Local Government project is to redirect traffic flows in the nearby parking garage located in the city center and to avoid street parking which already exists on the main boulevard in the city of Prilep. My aim is to show if this Projects will function as such or it will lead to increased traffic, and increased number of parked vehicles in the nearby narrow streets in the city center. The analysis of the current traffic situation in the central area will have a particular view of how to conduct traffic flows. Based on the respective analysis, the results will indicate whether there is a need to change conditions of the Goce Delchev Boulevard or any geometrical rearrangements, removal of existing parking spaces, and conversion of available spaces in bicycle and pedestrian paths on both sides of the boulevard.
