Abstract

The need for planning tourist activity is not questionable anymore nor for theoreticians or for barriers of tourist supply. There are many reasons for the necessity of planning process in tourism industry. Planning give direction for developing activities towards anticipative goals, make the future more transparent, reduce the changes stroke, minimize loses and establish working standards. In that sense, one of the most important hotel plans is a plan for selling accommodation services. This paper is about the basic aspects important for previous mentioned plan, and its correlation with plan of costs; plan of incomes, expenses and profit; and plan of financial indicators; all that in direction of rationalizing the selling of the accommodation services. The plan for selling accommodation services is made on the bases of the last period marketing plan, planned marketing activities for the following period, the predicted number of domestic and foreign tourists in the following period, accommodations selling contracts concluded, realized sale of those services in the past period, planned investments in the following period and the accommodation prices. Accommodation services offer process optimization, have to satisfy in the same time the function of incomes maximization and the function of expenditures minimization. In that direction this paper using mathematical and graphical instruments direct towards founding positive financial result point i.e. "zero point" or break-even equilibration point. The aim is to stress that maxim "full hotel" has to be changed by maxim "successful hotel".
