Abstract

Damping off is a serious disease of seedlings which frequently occurs in seedbeds under favorable microclimate conditions. The aim of the study was to determine the efficacy of some newer fungicides in control of the causal agents of damping off disease on tobacco in field conditions. Standard agents were applied during investigations, with active ingredient 722g/l propamocarb-hydrochlorid and 70% thiophanate-methyl, and the fungicides Orvego (ametoctradin 300 + dimethomorph 225), Enervin (ametoctradin 120 + metiram 440) and Signum (boscalid 267 + pyraklostrobin 67). Two treatments with 1 l/m2 suspension were applied on seedlings and the results on the efficiency of fungicides were assessed by the method of Abbott. During the two-year investigations, the fungicide Signum showed the highest efficiency in protection of tobacco seedling from the causal agents of damping off disease.
