Abstract

This paper explains the purpose and the need of the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and different types of attacks that can occur due to its stateless nature. We exhibit a real world example of a Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attack by sniffing http logins of a Windows PC and an Android device, and then suggest methods of both detecting and preventing the attack.
