Abstract

In 2003 two trials were set up in Bio-lab of Tobacco Institute-Prilep, in order to check the effectiveness of some newer fungicides in the control of Erysiphe cichoracearum DC - the causing agent of powdery mildew disease on tobacco.
Disease intensity in both investigations was different and ranged 18.78% to 51.24%.
Newly investigated fungicides Stroby and Quadris showed high coefficient in relation to standard fungcides and the control.
The effectiveness coefficient of Stroby ranged 99.23% - 99.37% and that of Quadris 97.07% - 99.10%.
Standard chemicals (Rubigan, Topas and Tilt) showed lower effectiveness in the control of powdery mildew.
