Abstract

This study presents a thermal analysis of a
monocrystalline monofacial photovoltaic module under
different tilt angles, focusing on conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer mechanisms. Real meteorological data for Bitola, North Macedonia, from a Typical Meteorological Year dataset are combined with a physics-based thermodynamic model implemented in Python. Solar
irradiance on the tilted module is calculated using the Hay
Davies model, while heat transfer is modeled via the
Armstrong-Hurley approach. Results show that tilt angle
significantly influences module temperature, heat dissipation, and efficiency. The findings provide insights for optimizing panel orientation to improve photovoltaic thermal performance and energy yield.
