Abstract

Republic of Macedonia is characterized by relief and geological structure that allows the presence of significant thermal forms. Their value is based on curiosity, recreational and health component. Related to these values, thermal components of the mineral springs are particularly important which bind spas as tourist centers. Their importance for tourism development in the Republic of Macedonia has crucial characteristics because it is a potential that can successfully promote and be a factor in spatial, economic and social development.

The analysis of balneological values determines the place and function of this segment of potential tourism products in relation to tourism development and specific types of tourism activities, through quantitative and qualitative research in this paper. Therefore the projected research is related to the identification of indicators that reflect the balneological characteristics, parameters that determine the level of development and opportunities for quality improvement through the approach of possible development projection.
